In the area there are many walkways and biking trail. There are well traced trails on easy terrain for relaxing walks or more challenging hiking trails through the Carignano grapevines, artichokes fields, wetlands and old medaus.

IS MURRONIS
Built around the second half of XIX century, this village, like every village in the region, was named after the most diffused surname in this place “MURRONI” . It is a small settlement with a few families whose activities were mainly agriculture and breeding.

IS SOLINAS
Built around the second half of XIX century, this village, like everyone in the region, was named after the most diffused surname in this place “MURRONI” . It is a small settlement with a few families whose activities were mainly agriculture and breeding. Not far from here there is a extraordinary environmental heritage consisting of a beautiful beach overlooking the Gulf of Palmas and surrounded by the beauty of the sandy dunes and the wetlands with a variety of lacustrine fauna. End of line IS SOLINAS beach.

STRADA COMUNALE MASAINAS-VILLARIOS
The road connects the town of Masainas to Villarios (in 1857 there was a single municipality) and represents a long distance arterial road built for agricultural purposes due to the presence of the Farmers Cooperative. This was the only cooperative in the territory for the production of the spiny artichokes. Along this road you can spot in the distance some rural settlements, very active back in the days, “Medau Serra Lepuris – Medau Is Porcinas and Medau Is Manigas”.

IS LAIS ROAD
Built around the second half of XIX century, this village, like everyone in the region, was named after the most diffused surname in this place "LAI". It is a small settlement with a few families whose activities were mainly agriculture and breeding. From here, following the signs, you can walk the MEDAUS/VILLAGES TRAIL which ends by the beach.

PORTO PINO ROAD
Porto Pino municipal road connects Masainas to the southern villages (Is Fiascus, Is Crobeddus, Is Lois, Is Lais ed Is Cinus). It’s a long distance arterial road built for agricultural purposes due to the presence of many farms along the way. From here you walk two trails: MEDAUS/VILLAGES TRAIL and CARIGNANO GRAPEVINES TRAIL. Both trails ends at Is Solinas beach.

IS SOLINAS ROAD
This itineraryconnects Masainas with the western villages (Is Cuccus - Is Murronis - Cannigonis - Medau Sabiu - Is Solinas), and it is an important communication route for the people of Masainas and the shoreline. Following the touristic signs you can walk the MASA-SEA TRAIL which ends by the sea.

BAIOCCA AND MAESTRALE PONDS
These ponds are natural oasis, houses of many bird species which populate these waters. You can spot flamingos, herons, ducks, cormorants, coots, shelducks, black-winged stilt, seagulls, tub gurnard and many others. Due its exceptional environmental value. it was declared Site of Community Interest (SCI).
